Using VineSeat with Claude and ChatGPT
Add the VineSeat connector to your AI assistant to search winery experiences, check live availability, and get a link to book.
What the connector does
The VineSeat connector lets an AI assistant look up winery experiences on VineSeat for you: tastings, tours, and pairings in Napa, Sonoma, and beyond. Ask in plain language and the assistant can:
- Search experiences by what you’re after, the town, and the size of your group.
- Show the details of one experience: description, price, length, and group-size limits.
- Check live availability for a day or a date range, in the winery’s local time.
When you find a time you like, the assistant gives you a link to the winery’s page on vineseat.com with the experience, date, and party size already filled in. You finish the reservation and pay there. Nothing is booked or charged inside the assistant.
Add it to Claude
VineSeat isn’t listed in Claude’s connector directory yet, so you add it as a custom connector using its web address:
https://vineseat.com/api/mcp
- In Claude, go to Customize, then Connectors.
- Choose Add custom connector.
- Name it VineSeat, paste the address above, and select Add. There’s no sign-in step: the connector doesn’t need an account.
- In a chat, select +, then Connectors, make sure VineSeat is switched on, and ask away.
Custom connectors work on every Claude plan (the Free plan allows one). On a Team or Enterprise plan, an Owner adds the connector under Organization settings, then Connectors, and members switch it on from Customize. Menu names can shift a little as the apps update.
Add it to ChatGPT
VineSeat isn’t in ChatGPT’s directory yet either. Until it is, you can add it as a custom server, where your plan or workspace allows it:
- In ChatGPT, open Plugins and select the + button, then Add custom MCP server.
- Name it VineSeat and paste
https://vineseat.com/api/mcpas the server address. - Choose no authentication (the connector doesn’t need an account), review the notice, and create it.
- Start a new chat, type @, pick VineSeat, and ask your question.
Things to ask
- “Find a pinot noir tasting in Healdsburg and show me open times this Saturday for two.”
- “I’m looking for a private winery tour in St. Helena for four people this week. What’s available?”
- “What can I book at Smith Story Wine Cellars, and what’s open for two people this weekend?”
- “Tell me more about the Fabulous Five Wines tasting at Smith Story: price, length, and how many people can come.”
Times are always in the winery’s local time. Availability is live, so a time can still sell out before you finish booking.
What data it uses
The connector only reads what anyone can already see on vineseat.com: public experience listings, prices, winery names and towns, and open times. It has no sign-in, doesn’t know who you are, and never sees your VineSeat account, past reservations, or payment details. It can’t create, change, or cancel a reservation.
Your assistant sends VineSeat the search terms it uses on your behalf, such as a town, a date, or a party size. Like any website, our servers keep standard request logs. Your conversation itself stays with your assistant and is covered by its own privacy terms. See our Privacy Policy for how VineSeat handles information.
Booking and help
Every reservation is completed on vineseat.com, under the winery’s own booking and cancellation policy, and you’ll get the usual confirmation email. Questions about the connector or a booking? Email support@vineseat.com.
